[In] equality, Justice, and Humanitarian Crisis;

This subtheme explores academic studies that enable the formulation of policy recommendations to achieve inclusivity and human equality. Humanitarian crises such as war, conflict, environmental disasters, and the like pose serious challenges at both the global and local levels. One crucial issue in this study is the injustice and inequality across various segments of society due to differences in ideology, ethnicity, race, gender, and religion. The discourse on this matter is often approached through conventional economic and political frameworks, such as the concept of Responsibility to Protect (R2P) formulated by ICISS, rather than a social jurisprudence approach, especially social fiqh (al-Fiqih al-Ijtima’i), focusing on the methods of Maqasid al-Syari’ah. Based on this foundation, studying the contextualization of fiqh in addressing issues of inequality, injustice, and humanitarian crises, as well as the potential variations in its implementation based on different places, times, and situations, becomes crucial.
